Picture
Mike Alden has been the AD at Mizzou since July
of 1998. Prior to coming to Mizzou,
he held a similar post at Texas State.
He also served in senior management positions at the University of New Mexico and Arizona State University.
Alden played college football at the University
of Evansville and coached football at both Evansville and the University of Pennsylvania. He has developed a focus on the three core values for intercollegiate athletics at Mizzou.
                           Academic
                             Integrity

Mizzou continues to rank among the national leaders in academic progress rate and the school’s student-athletes set records for grade-point average, graduation success rate and academic all-conference award winners in 2011-12.
                                                                                    Social
                                                                              Responsibility

All student-athletes and staff are integrally involved in community service efforts and total person growth. Mizzou recently received the NCAA Life Skills National Award for these efforts.
                                                                                Competitive
                                                                                   Intensity

In the NACDA Director’s Cup standings, which rates each Division I program on its competitive success on all sports, Mizzou has enjoyed four of its best finishes ever in the last four seasons under Alden’s direction, including yet another top showing in 2011-12.
Alden is seen as a leader in University,
Conference and National Initiatives and is a very visible lecturer on leadership
and management skills nationally.
